Michayla advanced in rank again today at her martial arts class. She did great, especially considering she didn't plan for it very well. She says she got busy watching TV at her dad's house and didn't go to bed until 6:30 this morning. She slept until about 10:30 a.m. when her dad woke her up to leave to meet me. Four hours of sleep! I really had my doubts she was going to make it at first; she was so tired. But she picked up energy as she went and finished well.

She's so happy to have an orange belt! (Orange is her favorite color, you know.) She is severely disappointed that she can't continue classes during the summer, partly because she just likes going to class, and partly because she doesn't want her classmates to pass her up. They will all advance to the next rank while she's gone. But one bright spot in her afternoon was seeing a particular girl, whom she doesn't like very much, missing from the belt testing. That means she isn't an orange belt. That means she won't pass up Michayla during the summer! At least, that's what Michayla hopes. :) It would be nice if she doesn't have to fall behind absolutely everyone.
