Sean's Track Meet

Sean participated in the elementary school track program this year.  It consists of 5 practices and a meet.  It's not designed to be intense, only fun.

Sean is a very active, athletic kid, but he's got a body built for football or wrestling or weightlifting--not track.  There is only so much he can manage against some of these wiry types who seem to have springs growing out of the soles of their feet.  But he did his best and never complained, not even when a couple of his friends gave him a bad time for earning a "participant" ribbon because he didn't place between 1st and 6th.  He focused on good form (keep your eyes on the finish line, don't slow down, don't give up) and he had a great time.  I'm really proud of him.

He entered four events:  running long jump, 100 meter dash, hurdles, and relay.  I didn't take a video of the relay, but here are the rest.

running long jump - unknown distance
100 meter dash - 6th place
hurdles - participant
relay - 4th place
