Okay, so this is old news, but I feel like my blog is lonely. Here are pictures from Michayla's surgery day.
Before: awake, smiling, happy.
After her first dose of sleepy medicine: still awake, stilling smiling, VERY happy.
Recovery: not smiling anymore, sleeping lots, but when she chooses to speak it is obvious that she is still VERY, VERY happy. What great medicines they have there! :)
The next day: awake about 50% of the time, not smiling, not so happy. She eased off the medication and eventually discovered that sitting up after surgery on your spine is not a fun ordeal.
As of today she is doing great. She returned to her regular activities just as soon as the doctors released her to do so. She got a little behind in her school work and at martial arts because of the time she missed, but otherwise she has no residual symptoms.
